What are Bored-to-Size Sheaves?
Bored-to-size sheaves are made to your exact shaft diameter. This eliminates the need for bushings or adapters, resulting in:
- Reduced Cost: Saves money by eliminating the need for additional components.
- Improved Performance: Ensures optimal power transmission by eliminating potential misalignment caused by bushings or adapters.
What We Offer
At Dixie Industrial, we offer both AK and BK style sheaves to cater to various belt types and applications:
- Bored-to-Size AK Sheaves: Designed for A-section V-belts, commonly used in light to medium-duty power transmission applications.
- Bored-to-Size BK Sheaves: Run on B-section V-belts, suitable for handling heavier loads and higher speeds.
Our Stock of Bored-to-Size Sheaves
At Dixie Industrial, we stock a wide range of bored-to-size AK sheaves, for “4L” or “A” belts, as indicated:
- Diameters: From 1.75 inches to 18.75 inches
- Bore Sizes: From 1/2 inch to 1-7/16 inch
- Single and double groove options available
- Please note: 3L belts may also be used in some instances.
We also stock a wide range of bored-to-size BK sheaves, for “4L”, “A”, “5L” or “B” belts in many:
- Diameters: From 2.4 inches to 18.75 inches
- Bore Sizes: From 1/2 inch to 1-7/16 inch
- Groove Configurations: Single and double groove options available
- Please note: BK sheaves are made for A (4L) or B (5L) belts. The two lines of sheaves have identical pitch diameters when using A or 4L belts.
It is important to note with both AK and BK style sheaves that they are also offered utilizing an H bushing, if your application requires, these bushings go up to a 1-1/2" bore size.
